Question

A gas passes through a complete cycle ABCAA\to B\to C\to A. In ABA\to B, it absorbs 500 J500\text{ J} of heat and does 200 J200\text{ J} of work. In BCB\to C, it rejects 100 J100\text{ J} of heat and 150 J150\text{ J} of work is done on it. In CAC\to A, it rejects 250 J250\text{ J} of heat.
Total: 4 marks

(a) Find ΔU\Delta U for ABA\to B. (1 mark)

(b) Find ΔU\Delta U for BCB\to C. (1 mark)

(c) Use the cyclic condition to find ΔU\Delta U for CAC\to A. (1 mark)

(d) Find the work done by the gas in CAC\to A. (1 mark)
